We are on our way to Tennessee to see family for Thanksgiving. We stopped in Virginia as our rest point and halfway mark.

Fun fact:

Our delightful Airbnb is in Floyd Virginia. Floyd is the home of Morgan Wade, one of our favorite country music singers. I was not aware of this when we booked our Airbnb! My husband knew this but wasn’t aware that that was where we were staying.

We ate dinner in town at The Floyd Country Store. It’s also the cutest little market and has a stage where they regularly host concerts. My husband asked the locals and they said Morgan Wade did a meet and greet show there. They had to shut down the store due to crowds. So cool! Here is an excerpt from an interview with Morgan Wade:

“Morgan recently told Rolling Stone magazine that she used to “come every Friday night with her grandfather” where she would “fall asleep on his lap” at the Friday Night Jamboree. Morgan credits the Floyd Country Store’s Friday Night Jamboree as her “first live music experience, ever!” We love hearing Morgan’s stories about spending her early years here at the Store. Morgan spent many years performing at The Floyd Country Store at our American Afternoons and we are incredibly happy to see her find success with her songwriting and incredible vocals.”

How cool is this? The store also has some good pinto beans and cornbread and beet salad! I can’t say their pinto beans are the best, as my daddy makes the best pinto beans! He’s from Winchester, Tennessee and he knows how to cook!

This little town was a nice stop on our way to Tennessee. How awesome!

Our Airbnb was one of the best we’ve ever stayed at. It’s nestled deep in the woods yet only about 5 miles from this quaint little town and country store.
